The news comes from PocketGamer - a website dedicated to mobile games. The page is called "inside source" at Apple that a press conference on October 5, will take place when the company announced a "new hardware" suggests. This new piece of hardware would be a week later, on October 12 will be published.

Yes, reports have suggested that Apple is not a tutorial, but two new iPhone: a low-end 4-iPhone look-alike (which will be referred to as the iPhone 4S) and a high-end next-generation iPhone (which we see be seen as the iPhone 5).
Our inside source says there will be a press conference announcing the new hardware on October 5th, with retail release occurring a week later.
The symbolism works well too: iPhone 5, iOS 5, October 5.
Putting two and two together, we can say when the new hardware is actually going to be announced, will be the new iPhone.
We can also release cycle Apple changed with the announcement of the next generation 3G-enabled iPod touch for the first conversation. Although this is unlikely, it is certainly possible.
It 'been a previous report, in case Apple's September 7 proposed. This proved to be a false alarm as no such event took place or even mentioned.
