
Remember that many warn those who want to stay away from iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak - especially 4S and iPhone owners who have no way to downgrade back to a previous firmware version.

Note: You will need iOS 5.0 firmware (download here) to jailbreak with RedSn0w 0.9.9b8. This should be remedied with the next RedSn0w update (presumably RedSn0w 0.9.9b9)
Step 1: Install 5.0.1 Final.
Step 2: Open redsn0w 0.9.9b8 (download here), and select Tools> Enter firmware> then refer to the iOS firmware 5.0 IPSW.
Step 3: Return to the main screen of redsn0w and place the device in DFU mode. Click jailbreak, Cydia and install select.
Step 4: The device must be jailbroken, but note that Cydia icon is white, as it is a tethered jailbreak. Boat moored to the device is in DFU mode space again.
Step 5: On page redsn0w station, select Extras> Enter> firmware and the point where the iOS 5.0 IPSW.
Step 6: Select "Boot Only" from the Tools menu of redsn0w, and lead to a resumption tied.
