Sprint Just Signing a $20 Billion Deal with Apple for iPhone 5 Exclusivity Or Not?

After four years of waiting, it seems that Sprint finally have the opportunity to bring Apple's smartphone on its network. Among other things, Apple should announce a new partnership with the airline's iPhone event tomorrow.

A few moments ago, the Wall Street Journal (the iPhone Sprint-bound in August confirmed) an interesting article about the new partnership between Apple and third-largest U.S. operator released.

The agreement requires Sprint for the purchase of 30.5 million iPhones in the next four years, the company reported that costs about $20 billion, But why should such an obligation amazing sprint? BGR believes that iPhone exclusivity 5 ...

Sprint has essentially "bet the company on the iPhone, as the carrier reported the business to lose money until 2014 Smartphone The gamble would pay off big, but the operator is now said to have 5 exclusive iPhone this fall.:
BGR’s Jonathan Geller:
“I have been going back and forth for weeks with one of my incredibly solid industry contacts on a piece of information that I couldn’t really process at first — information that is so unbelievable, even from a source this solid, that I couldn’t report it. With this new WSJ report on an Apple/Sprint deal, however, it doesn’t look so crazy.
I have been told that Sprint will be getting the iPhone 5 — yes the real iPhone 5, not the iPhone 4S — as an exclusive. And it will be a 4G WiMAX device. AT&T and Verizon would launch the iPhone 4S and get the iPhone 5 some time in the first quarter of next year as an LTE device. Globally, the iPhone 5 might be available as a 4G HSPA+ device.”
Geller also says that his source has confirmed the iPhone 5 specification, including a larger 4-inch screen and a gesture-based home button. He also points out that the laptop would be slightly larger than other models, but it would be much more subtle.

Even if the message is definitely fun, it seems rather unlikely. Word on the street is that Sprint has to dump its 4G WiMAX technology for the most popular platform for LTE planning. WiMAX is being used by any other major vector.

On the other hand, as expected, Geller could be guaranteed $20 billion in sales of the iPhone enough to convince Apple from doing something crazy. As the third-largest carrier in the U.S. exclusive access to its flagship smartphone 4G.

On top of its partnership with Apple, Jeff pointed out to me that Sprint WiMAX network was much longer than the other 4G infrastructure, it is by far the most tested. The carrier began rolling out WiMAX in 2008.

Even with the argument that the whole theory seems pretty sketchy. We have not leaked iPhone seen five shares, or other details of the device for that matter (with exception). Regardless, the iPhone event tomorrow is just a little "more interesting.
